An introduction course of basic computer usage, skills, and keyboarding for the ESOL student.

Course Prerequisite: Placement into Literacy 2 or higher from scores on the English placement test or by recommendation of an ESOL advisor.

Below is a list the ESOL 0192 learning outcomes:

1. Use an online computer program inside and outside of class to develop and improve keyboarding skills and proficiency.
2. Perform basic computer operations such as starting, logging off, and shutting down the computer.
3. Navigate Windows and the start menu.
4. Recognize basic computer terminology, parts, and the functions they perform.
5. Demonstrate proper use of a USB device to include insertion, removal, file management, and saving and retrieving documents.
6. Recognize aspects and efficiently use Microsoft Word to create documents and paragraphs on the computer.
7. Become familiar with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud storage and retrieval of documents.
8. Become proficient in using eLearn (the college learning management system).
9. Demonstrate the ability to sign in and participate in a Zoom course.
