ACLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of the hospital. The goal of the course is to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency. In the course, the student will enhance his/her skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases.
Pre-requisites:
- Purchase the ACLS Student/Provider Manual and bring it to class. The American Heart Association requires all participants in the ACLS course to have access to the most current ACLS Provider manual (2020 Guidelines) before, during, and after the course. - Completion of the ECG and pharmacology www.heart.org/eccstudent precourse assessment test. Pre-test is accessed at www.heart.org/eccstudent www.heart.org/eccstudent
- The passcode is located in the provider manual. Students must print their scores and bring to class. Students will not be permitted to attend class without completing the pre-assessment.
- Ability to perform BLS CPR skills using the most current AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC
- Ability to read and interpret baside ECGs
