The American Heart Association designed the BLS Instructor Course to prepare people to become Basic Life Support or Heartsaver Instructors. Prospective instructors must: 1. Complete the most recent BLS-Instructor update, bring to class. 2. Align with an AHA Training Center. 3. Possess a current AHA Healthcare Provider card; for non-healthcare professionals, a current Heartsaver First Aid provider card 4. Letter of recommendation and Instructor Candidate Application completed 5. Purchase and review BLS/Heartsaver Instructor Manual prior to the first day of class. 6. Bring Instructor Manual to class.
