This class introduces students to the fundamentals of 3D printing, from design to production.
Students will learn the basics of 3D modeling, printer operation, material selection, and post-processing, while also exploring real-world applications of additive manufacturing.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
● Understand how 3D printers work and the different types of 3D printing technologies.
● Safely operate a 3D printer and troubleshoot common issues.
● Create simple 3D models using beginner-friendly CAD tools.
● Prepare files for printing (slicing, supports, infill, scaling, etc.).
● Select appropriate materials for different applications.
● Evaluate finished prints and perform basic post-processing.
● Apply creative and engineering thinking to design projects.
