The Fiber Optics Bootcamp is an intensive, hands-on training series designed to equip students with the knowledge and technical skills needed to work confidently in today’s fiber optic industry. Over the course of this program, participants will complete three nationally recognized courses — each sanctioned by the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) and recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor.

    Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)

    Foundational Training
Build a solid foundation in fiber optic theory, installation, and testing. Learn to identify fiber types, prepare and terminate cables, perform fusion and mechanical splicing, and test fiber systems to industry standards.
Exam given and graded at the end of class.

Certified Fiber Optic Testing & Maintenance Specialist (CFOS/T)

    Testing, Troubleshooting & Quality Control
Gain in-depth experience testing and maintaining fiber optic networks. Learn to use and interpret results from OTDRs, light sources, and power meters. Students will diagnose network issues, evaluate signal performance, and apply quality assurance techniques to prevent future failures.

Certified Fiber Optic Splicing Specialist (CFOS/S)

    Advanced Splicing Techniques
Develop advanced splicing skills using both fusion and mechanical methods. Students practice working with single-mode and multi-mode cables, inside and outside plant enclosures, and splice trays while achieving precise, low-loss splices.
Includes hands-on OTDR practice and splice loss analysis.
