Patient Care Technician/Certified Clinical Medical Assistant   

Patient Care Technicians, also known as Clinical Medical Assistants, are vital members of the health care team and are in high demand. They assist doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals in providing direct patient care in a variety of health care settings, such as physician offices, hospitals, and outpatient clinical settings.

Patient Care Technicians/CMAs collect patient history, take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height. They assist with scheduling procedures according to doctor's orders and provide other basic patient care tasks.

Prior to the clinical rotation: students will also be required to provide documentation of a background check, drug screen, and immunizations (at his/her own expense) prior to participating in the clinical component.  The clinical rotation is required for completion of the course.

    Patient Care Technicians/Certified Clinical Medial Assistant  (CCMA) are in high demand in the health care field. The demand is expected to increase by 25% by the year 2026.

    Patient Care Technicians/CCMA, are vital members of the health care team. They assist doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals in providing direct patient care in a variety of health care settings, such as physician offices, hospitals, and outpatient clinical settings. They will collect patient history, take, and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height. They assist with scheduling procedures according to doctor's orders and provide other basic patient care tasks.

    Prior to the clinical rotation: students will also be required to provide documentation of a background check, drug screen, and immunizations (at his/her own expense) prior to participating in the clinical component.  The clinical rotation is required for completion of the course.

    Ten weeks (60 +/- hours) in the classroom/lab.

    Two weeks (80 hours) at an affiliate clinic at the end of classroom training, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Clinical rotation is currently scheduled for June 16, 2025- June 27, 2025. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE!
