Patient Care Technicians, also known as Clinical Medical Assistants, are vital members of the health care team and are in high demand. They assist doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals in providing direct patient care in a variety of health care settings, such as physician offices, hospitals, and outpatient clinical settings.
Patient Care Technicians/CMAs collect patient history, take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height. They assist with scheduling procedures according to doctor's orders and provide other basic patient care tasks.
The Patient Care Technician/CMA course is a combination of in-person classroom and laboratory instruction, online learning and rotation in clinical settings.
